School Governors
There are fourteen members of the school governing body, some elected, some appointed. Their role is to monitor the work of the school. Responsibilities include setting the annual budget, maintaining the site and buildings, agreeing general policies and strategic planning. Their responsibilities do not include the internal organisation and day to day running of the school, which is the responsibility of the headteacher.
The full governing body meets at least once a term. Committees of the governing body, such as the Finance, Premises and Personnel committee meet on a regular basis according to need. By working in partnership with the headteacher, staff, parents and the Local Education Authority, the governors help to ensure that Abbots Langley School provides the right learning environment for our pupils. Parent governors are elected for a four year period. Current members of the governing body are as follows:
